DA 220 Film and Audio Production allows students to integrate the skills gained in DA 122 Introduction to Video and Audio to explore best professional practices as applied to the pre-production, production and post-production process of creating and delivering a short film. Students will also explore more advanced techniques relevant to sound recording, editing and mixing for web, presentation and digital video.

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Use cinematic storytelling techniques to write a script or treatment for a short film
- Demonstrate the use of cinematic language through the use of a digital video and/or a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera
- Use best practices for production which include project workflow, editing techniques and mastering
- Utilize self and peer assessment tools
- Demonstrate awareness of target audience and clarity of purpose in production and presentation of final project
- Edit and mix multi-track audio
- Manipulate voice, music and sound effects in a variety of creative contexts
- Plan and produce a sound track for digital video, animation and web
