INDG 102 Walk the Talk: Indigenous Worldview Applications. Students will build awareness and insight into Indigenous worldview, teachings, protocols, and methodologies through experiential learning and application. Indigenous ways of learning such as circle pedagogy, oral presentation, research, and various Indigenous methodologies make this an interactive relational course. Students are required to conduct themselves respectfully with elders and cultural ambassadors. This course expands on Indigenous worldviews identified in INDG100 and INDG101.

Prerequisites: INDG 101

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Articulate values and protocols from diverse Indigenous communities
  2. Research various Indigenous research protocol documents
  3. Reflect Elder teachings
  4. Apply Indigenous protocols and methodologies in the creation of an Indigenous article
  5. Understand interrelationships and responsibilities to land from an Indigenous perspective
  6. Synthesize course content with a critical and reflective lens
  7. Synthesize knowledge gained using oral presentation skills
  8. Engage with circle pedagogy and deep listening as a commitment to shared learning
