School of Academic Upgrading and Development

PTFO 33 Portfolio Building 2 builds upon the document established in PRFO 30, with a new focus on a professional or community-based goal, setting the stage for life-long learning after college graduation.  Students will focus on goal development, progress strategies, and self-evaluation skills.  Students will become more confident as they understand how they learn, build personal success, and learn how to maintain personal and professional growth post-graduation.

Prerequisites: Completion of Discovery Certificate and/or Mastery Certificate in ASE

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. create an appropriate SMART Goal for community connections or professional growth.
  2. evaluate the progress of one’s goal and track progress for success, making changes as needed.
  3. outline realistic expectations of oneself for success, documenting progress and learning.
  4. utilize steps in the critical thinking process when facing challenges and problem solving.
  5. recognize aspects of that relate to roles in personal relationships, employment and community.
  6. produce a collection of reflections and evidence of one’s community based or professional learning.

Grade Description
AAV ABOVE AVERAGE -The student has mastered all or most course objectives/requirements in a minimum time frame and has exemplified good work and study habits.
COM COMPLETE – denotes that the student has mastered a satisfactory number of course objectives/requirements in a non-credit course
CRG CREDIT GRANTED - denotes that the student performance was satisfactory in a credit course.
NCG NO CREDIT GRANTED - denotes that the student performance was unsatisfactory.
PCG PARTIAL CREDIT GRANTED – denotes that the student has successfully completed a portion of the course objectives in a credit course.
