ECCE 286: Infant Toddler Practicum experience is designed to provide the student, under supervision, with opportunities to apply and consolidate knowledge and skills in working with infants and toddlers in group settings. Five weeks in length, this block practicum places each student in an early childhood setting for children under age three..
Prerequisites: Early Childhood Education Certificate. Successful completion of ECCE 285 , ECE 200, ECE 260 and HSER 267 with a grade of �C� or better.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- understanding the caregivers role for the child under three years of age;
- applying principles of quality care and interpersonal communication in developing and facilitating collaborative interpersonal relationships with and among a variety of children under three, families, team members and other professionals in the ECCE community;
- demonstrate knowledge and skill in observing, recording and analyzing significant information to all aspects of the care and education of the child under three years;
- use observations, ECCE principles, and personal creativity in planning, providing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate approaches to support and extend the play and discovery of the child under three years;
- use the principles of guidance in guiding the behaviour of children under three years; and
- demonstrate accountability as an Early Childhood Educators and in taking responsibility for personal and professional growth.
