GIS 427: Project Management will focus on skills pertaining to issues surrounding the management of GIS projects from start to finish. Emphasis areas will include description of the project work environment, organizational skills and tools, deliverable oriented performance appraisals, leadership and team orientation. In addition to these emphasis areas, supporting information covering costing, budgeting, meeting preparation, time management and communication skills will be addressed.

- establish procedures for change management control; and
- determine if a project is successful.

- describe in depth the processes in the project management lifecycle;
- describe the relationship between organizational behaviour and successful project management;
- create a project plan using Microsoft Project 2010;
- identify the role assumptions and constraints play in project management and planning;
- outline the importance of the Work Breakdown Structure;
- demonstrate the resource allocation and work estimation methods of assigning the right resource(s);
- identify and assess project risks;
