GNUR 503: Delirium, Dementia and Depression in the Elderly will provide the learner with opportunities to gain a solid understanding of these three medical conditions that alter cognitive capacity and impact psychosocial status and well-being in the older adult. Learners will look at current theories of causality, presenting behaviours, risk factors and therapies for each of these three conditions. The impact on family and professional caregivers will also be assessed. Dementia nursing care will focus on methods to enhance and retain patient abilities.
