Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. design fabric with the aid of the computer;
  2. have the opportunity to translate their ideas & sketches into a digital file and have them produced by a small-scale manufacturer;
  3. combine hand-printed components with their digitally printed cloth by having all elements register and repeat within their yardage;
  4. apply their specific designs into yardage that is suitable for clothing, upholstery or an application of their choice; and
  5. work with the idea of "industrial" methods of manufacturing.
  6. At the end of this course students should be able to understand positive/negative space relationships, line, shape and the dynamic of interrelated elements in textile imagery and repeating pattern and transferring those ideas onto the computer.
