RFW 273: Techniques in Wildlife Management II. This course prepares the student for immediate employment as a wildlife technician and park interpreter in British Columbia through instruction in wildlife management theory and the application of techniques used in wildlife management.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Collect Wildlife Data;
collect wildlife track data;
perform a habitat use survey using wildlife tracks;
perform field necropsy on wildlife;
perform visual survey of group composition for mountain sheep; and
perform a bird survey.
- Analyze Wildlife Data;
processing habitat association data; and
identify species by prints and hair samples.
- Understand Wildlife Data;
describe the characteristics and potential remedies for problem wildlife;
describe the use of electric fences to control problem wildlife;
describe the ecology and sampling methods for BC waterfowl, bears, and bats;
describe the methods used in wildlife tracking and differentiate among major mammalian species;
describe basic theory of experimental design;
describe basic bear ecology and their specific management issues; and
describe the characteristics and potential remedies for wildlife diseases.
