FREN 103 Beginner's French II is designed to develop the communication skills learned by students in French 102. Students will further their knowledge of the French language and awareness of French-speaking cultures. The focus of this course is to help students become functionally proficient in the French language through the development of the basic communication skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as the study of vocabulary, grammar, and culture.
Prerequisites: FREN 102 with a minimum grade of 60%

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Aurally understand some common and basic phrases, expressions, and descriptions in French
- Orally express themselves in the present tense in French, as demonstrated though proficiency in their ability to extend greetings, describe things, ask simple questions, and give replies
- Read and comprehend basic information and simplified texts
- Write simple sentences in the present tense in French
- Understand very common and basic grammatical structures including a variety of verb tenses
- Express familiarity with French-speaking cultures
