JEWL 104: Product Design and Creation for Jewelry allows you to delve into small studio production work to create a line of jewelry. Production techniques demonstrated include hydraulic press and electric etching. Combining these techniques with your fabrication, casting and surface treatment skills, you will design and create your own production jewelry, using hand fabrication/construction/finishing techniques appropriate to a small studio practice.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- demonstrate basic knowledge of what to consider when producing a production line appropriate for a small scale studio, including: design in a series, appropriate fabrication techniques, and a beginning discussion about market readiness, costing and pricing;
- design and fabricate a series of jewelry pieces which is suitable for fabrication as a cohesive production line in a small studio; and
- understand and demonstrate good studio health and safety practices.
