PGHM 275 Hospitality Computer Applications

PGHM 275: Hospitality Computer Applications has students explore the data base and information needs of lodging properties and food service establishments. Through hands-on experience, students are given the opportunity to learn a food and beverage point of sale system (Micros POS), a property management database system (Opera) and a convention/meeting graphic drawing system (MeetingMatrix).

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. make use of the Micros POS from both a line employee and manger operations;
  2. construct effective and logical meeting/event diagrams using MeetingMatrix;
  3. construct accurate rooms using MeetingMatrix; and
  4. make use of the Micros Opera PMS software to accurately create and manage guest and group information, accounts, special requests and reservations.
