ARTE 23 Exploring the Arts II

ARTE 23: Exploring the Arts II builds upon the skills developed in ARTE 20. In this course, students will continue to explore art and the area of art as determined in ARTE 20. Students will discover the unique aspects of the art form by practicing and learning skills, and learn evaluation and interpretation skills. The focus of this course is exploration of skills and interests.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. formulate short- and long-term goals for course completion;
  2. classify various art techniques;
  3. practice art techniques;
  4. compare and contrast personal work to determine own style and preference;
  5. reflect on the progress of art exploration;
  6. practice problem-solving strategies;
  7. evaluate skills, abilities, work skills, habits, performance and compatibility with the types of art explored;
  8. use effective workplace communication;
  9. develop and practice self-management skills for work;
  10. demonstrate appropriate and safe workplace etiquette to complete a task;
  11. demonstrate initiative towards task completion;
  12. demonstrate awareness of positive and negative attitudes and personal strengths and weaknesses;
  13. identify areas of needed personal support;
  14. demonstrate an understanding of work habits;
  15. demonstrate good time management; and
  16. use sector-specific vocabulary.

Grade Description
AAV ABOVE AVERAGE -The student has mastered all or most course objectives/requirements in a minimum time frame and has exemplified good work and study habits.
COM COMPLETE – denotes that the student has mastered a satisfactory number of course objectives/requirements in a non-credit course
CRG CREDIT GRANTED - denotes that the student performance was satisfactory in a credit course.
NCG NO CREDIT GRANTED - denotes that the student performance was unsatisfactory.
PCG PARTIAL CREDIT GRANTED – denotes that the student has successfully completed a portion of the course objectives in a credit course.
