This course provides students with a basic understanding of Design and Visual Communication skills required to develop and present concepts that may be realized in Cast Molten Metal. Students will gain the ability to integrate 2D/3D concepts and to combine aesthetics with function when articulating their creative visions 'on paper' as an adjunct to working with Cast Metal.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- apply drawing and design principles and techniques;
- design concepts and communicate clearly in visual and verbal formats;
- visualize 3D objects from 2D representations and translate 2D design concepts into 3D form;
- represent human anatomy and physiognomy in 2D and 3D formats;
- read and create scale drawings;
- format concepts for presentation and create personal promotional materials; and
- discuss general design history and evolution of cast molten metal design within historic context.
