CERM 104 Hand Forming and Molding is a project based course that will engage students in expanding hand forming techniques. Projects will be designed to explore and establish directions in both production and one-of-a-kind ceramics. The emphasis will be on experimentation and developing a personal expression.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrated the ability to recognize and manage the physical properties of the clay medium for performing demonstrate a variety of hand building methods, be creatively and experimentally confident to use clay as an expressive medium, and apply the opportunity to design and assemble forms in combination with surfaces
- Practice forming techniques for producing limited-volume production in ceramics
- Participate in critical discussions about ceramic materials, techniques, design and utility
