PGFS 105 Application Infrastructure and Architecture introduces students to the underlying framework and structural design that support the development, deployment, and management of software applications. The course covers the hardware and software components necessary to run applications effectively including server architecture, database management, network protocols, and security measures. Students will design, deploy, and maintain a robust and scalable web application.

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basics of web application infrastructure, including server architecture, database management, network protocols, and security measures
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basics of cloud computing and how it relates to web application infrastructure
- Analyze different web application architectures and their benefits and drawbacks
- Implement and configure network protocols to enable efficient communication between web application components
- Apply security measures to protect web applications from cyber threats, including authentication, access control, and encryption
- Use monitoring and logging tools to track and diagnose issues in web application infrastructure
- Analyze internet security threats and evaluate security measures for internet communication and infrastructure
