JEWL 110: Dynamic Metal Forming introduces the fundamentals of synclastic and anticlastic forming through the creation of technical samples and jewelry using hammers and stakes to explore the malleability of precious metal sheet.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- complete a number of samples and projects which will demonstrate basic cold forming metal skills such as: safe repetitive use of silversmithing hammers, making and using customized wooden stakes, synclastic and anticlastic forming;
- develop their existing basic jewellery skills such as sawing, filing, soldering, and polishing; and
- understand and demonstrate good studio health and safety practices; in particular, how to set up and use a hammering station to avoid repetitive strain injuries.
