MUSC 246: Live Sound Production II is a second-level exploration, where students deepen their understanding of the many aspects that constitute live sound production including effects processing, advanced file management and custom set-ups that involve multi-media, in-ear monitors and click tracks. Each student's final project will be to develop and run front-of-house and back-of-house sound for at least two showcase concerts.
Prerequisites: B or better in MUSC 245 (Live Sound Production I)
Corequisite: Production Major core courses

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- demonstrate the use and describe the function of all equipment used in a variety of contemporary PA and sound reinforcement applications;
- demonstrate the use of and describe the function of contemporary live mixing recording practices;
- set up and operate of PA equipment in small and medium-sized performance venues;
- set up and operate sound systems suitable for music reinforcing live concerts, speaking events and multi-media presentations; and
- work with performers and groups to design, develop stage plots and custom mix shows that support artist performance across a range of scale and venues.
