WS 101: Women�s Studies II is a continuation of Women's Studies 100, WS 101 is an interdisciplinary course designed to expand on the study of women in global cultures as portrayed through literature and sociological studies; however, students do not need WS 100 as a prerequisite. Topics to be covered include women and religion, politics, health and reproductive technologies, and inequality in paid and unpaid labour.
Prerequisites: English 12 with a grade of "C" or better. Note: Pre-requisite(s) may be waived with the permission of the Instructor.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- develop their understanding of the situation of women globally;
- synthesize and summarize literature and data;
- demonstrate collaboratve skills in a multi-cultural environment;
- acknowledge Indigenous ways of knowing and being; and
- develop awareness of environmental issues and sustainable solutions.

- analyze the complex relationship of women to current issues such as religion, politics, health, globalization and environment, and paid/unpaid labour;
- propose thoughtful solutions to contemporary challenges facing women in Canada and globally;
- exhibit professional behaviours such as respect for colleagues, punctuality, willingness to think independently, and pride in presentation of work;
- research and analyze evidence from scholarly and professional publications;
