OTEC 175: Computerized Accounting introduces students to an integrated computerized accounting system using Sage 50 Accounting 2018, for Windows. Utilizing business scenarios, students will establish company records; maintain daily transactions using the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll features; and create financial statements.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- explain the terms relevant to GST, HST and PST;
- create sales and purchase quotes and orders;
- create an Accountant’s copy; and
- prepare financial statements.
- set up and operate an integrated accounting program for a business;
- create General Ledger Accounts;
- record, post, and adjust daily business transactions in the General Journal;
- use Payables Journal to create suppliers and record transactions;
- use Receivables Journal to create customer accounts and record transactions;
- use the Payroll Journal to set up employee records and record payroll transactions;
- complete payroll runs and reports and prepare Record of Employment & T4 slips;
- set up and record inventory-related transactions;
