Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

1. use a variety of observational recording and documentation techniques to obtain information about children for individual and program planning;
2. recognize and respect cultural, socio-economic and family diversity in all aspects of care.
3. record children’s discoveries and learning in an unbiased and non-judgmental method;
4. interpret children’s learning and demonstrate professional responsibilities for planning in practice;
5. demonstrate the promotion of learning through play in interactions with children;
6. discover families as a resource in their child's growth and development;
7. develop personal and professional attributes in the practice of early childhood care and education;
8. cultivate relationships and positive regard for children, families and others;
9. communicate effectively with children, families, early childhood educators, fellow students and instructors;
