TSOL 110: Practicum Experience and Seminar, students gain first-hand experience observing in one of Selkirk�s multicultural, skill-based ESL classes on campus. Students will be supported by experienced ESL instructors who provide one-on-one guidance, supervision and feedback. A weekly seminar provides the opportunity for students to share and reflect on their experience.
Prerequisites: Accepted into the TESOL program.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- observe and record observations of English Language classes in an unbiased, non-judgmental way;
- prepare, in conversation with the sponsor teacher, appropriate; student-centred lesson plans;
- select and generate learning materials that meet course outcomes and support learner’s goals;
- demonstrate professionalism and foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment in the classroom;
- deliver effective lessons in a multicultural, adult ESL classroom;
- reflect critically on lessons taught; and
- design and conduct assessments linked to learning outcomes.
