TEXT 107: Felt and Colour has a dual focus. In the dye section, protein fibres (primarily raw wool fleece) will be immersion dyed with weak acid dyes, allowing a study of colour theory, colour relationships and colour mixing. The felting section is an introduction of traditional felting techniques within a contemporary context.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- dye safely;
- use felting tools safely;
- utilize various methods of dyeing safely as part of with the felting process;
- use approaches to felt making including inlay, wool paper, cut out, secondary structures and making felt yardages;
- applypattern and repeats in felt making; and
- exhibit critical thinking in regards to felt.
