PTEC114 Sterile Products Lab

PTEC 114 Sterile Products Lab provides the knowledge and skills required by pharmacy technicians to function effectively and efficiently when working in the Sterile Products room of a hospital pharmacy or in a community pharmacy that specializes in sterile products production. This is a laboratory based course where the learner applies and demonstrates knowledge from a successfully completed theory course PTEC 113 Introduction to Aseptic Technique. Under the supervision of an instructor technical skills are learned and practiced. Learners maintain training logs and validation records as required by their instructor. Adherence to aseptic technique procedures and quality assurance controls will be emphasized through demonstration and practice. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for the Hospital Pharmacy Preceptorship.
