GCOOL 112: Accounting for Golf Operation Part #2, presents accounting concepts and explains how they apply to specific operations within the club industry. The text was written for managers in the Club Industry and students in two-year and four- year college-level courses.

Prerequisites: Students must successfully complete GCOOL 111 Accounting for Club Operations Part #1. It is helpful if students have a very basic understanding of accounting. Students must have strong written and computer skills. Students are required to have computer access and high-speed Internet, Microsoft Office 2003 software, Adobe Reader and Shockwave Player.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. outline the elements involved in managing current assets effectively;
  2. describe the goals and elements of an effective internal control system;
  3. identify the important points associated with accounting for property, equipment, fixed assets, and payroll-related liabilities;
  4. outline the growing uses of computer technology in clubs; and
  5. distinguish between capital and operating leases and explain how to choose between these two options.
